The Alberta Metal Fab Innovation [AMFI] Program is a unique company development opportunity designed specifically for the Alberta metal manufacturing and fabrication sector. The Program provides innovation and improvement opportunities for sector companies and stakeholders. Participants gain access to both production and business enhancement expertise, developed and provided by some of Alberta’s top research, technology development and process improvement institutions.

THE PROGRAM:

THE OPPORTUNITIES:

Supply Chain Development Modules:

Capacity Building to Access Markets Divided into three modules and on-site coaching, each element of the program is designed to help you understand the nuances of the oil and gas supply chain and how you can tailor your business plan to create a competitive advantage.

  • Module 1 - Marketing for Alberta’s Oil and Gas Industry: This module explores where the Alberta fits within the global industry, and offers a run-down of different extraction processes, mining and in-situ, and other technologies. You’ll also learn how to use pricing and payment solutions to your best advantage, and how to build sustainable business relationships.

  • Module 2 - Who’s Who in the Oil and Gas Industry: Now that you know how the game is played, get to know the players and how to access them, from oil companies to contractors and suppliers.

  • Module 3 - Business Practices: This module will help you understand how to use Quality and HSE as market access tools. You will also learn how to use negotiation and leadership as tools to communicate with industry players and clients.

  • Onsite Coaching: After you’ve absorbed the knowledge, a program facilitator will come to you. A two-hour site visit will help you apply what you’ve learned to your business. After a month, a supply chain expert will check on your progress and help determine if you need further support.
