On behalf of the Canadian Centre for Welding and Joining at the University of Alberta, I am pleased to invite you to join me at the Fabtec/AWS Welding and Metal Fabrication Show, which takes place in the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia, November 2-4, 2010. The Fabtec/AWS show is North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, finishing and welding event. This annual event anticipates 22,000 visitors and over 1,000 exhibiting companies covering more than 350,000 net square feet of floor space. 
The goal of the trip is to coordinate Canadians attending the show, so that we can network and get the undivided attention of suppliers of technologies that might be of use to all of us. Also, with my participation in the visits, we will be able to use Science and Engineering knowledge to relate our needs to the capabilities of equipment we look at. I would like to invite you to join us in all activities. If you are planning to attend, I would also like to know if you would like to participate in prearranging a visit to highlight products useful or services useful to us.
This visit will open the doors to latest generation technology and expertise to Canadian industry. Having the simultaneous participation of Canadian industry representatives and welding researchers will be a tremendously synergistic opportunity.
Please note that the U of A contingent will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Downtown (a shuttle right to the Hotel from the Conference Center is available). The reception will take place at the Hyatt from 6:30pm - 9:30pm on Tuesday, November 2, with food and refreshments included.
