The Edmonton Economic Development Corporation held their annual luncheon on April 18th and recognized two very interesting Albertan manufacturers.
Cleankeys Inc. received the Innovation Excellence Award while Master Flo Valve took home the Leadership Excellence Award
Cleankeys Inc. is on the leading edge of a brand new field termed hygienic computing. Their keyboards, which are manufactured in Edmonton, are a single glass-topped unit and be cleaned much faster than conventional keyboard covers. In sterile situations, such as doctor’s offices, hospitals and at the dentist this product proves invaluable in keeping the dirtiest bits of hardware in the office clean.
The tale of CEO Randy Marsden is an interesting one. His passion and interest in the field originally came from designing a computer for a disabled friend back in the late ’80s.
The Postmedia chain has told Cleankeys’ story as has Alberta Venture magazine in a feature called Germ Warfare.
A major supplier to Alberta’s oil and gas industry, Master Flo Valve is an ambassador in leadership for the province, delivering the message of achievement and innovation to customers around the world.
The privately owned Master Flo Valve Inc. manufactures chokes, specialty control valves and supporting actuators from its head office and manufacturing facility in Edmonton. Its products have been used in the Alberta oil patch since 1979, and an entrance into the Australian market nearly 30 years ago has led to manufacturing, sales and service facilities around the globe. To date, Master Flo’s products have been installed in 50 countries across four continents.
Master Flo recently received an Exporter of the Year Award from Alberta Venture magazine. You can read about it in the feature Pressure Performance.
