Collaboration Innovation Transformation

September Productivity Roundup

[Gladwell] In what is probably a first at ProductivityAlberta.ca we link out to Malcolm Gladwell’s latest essay in the New Yorker. It’s a useful, and highly readable, article on the innovation process. It follows the computer mouse, from boxy idea to cheap mass produced good and breaks down the various stages of the innovation press. A recommended read.

[Small Business] Elaine Mah asks if risk management is killing productivity. Mah makes the argument that to be competitive, we need to collectively open ourselves up to new ideas, new opportunities and new markets.

[Innovator’s Manifesto] A useful rundown/review of The Innovator’s Manifesto, a book we recently reviewed. We also spoke with the author, Michael Raynor.

[Podcast] The Productivity Secrets of a Very Busy Man. Bob Pozen, senior lecturer at Harvard Business School and author of the Harvard Business Review article Extreme Productivity talks about how he gets things done.
