How The Tool Was Developed
Productivity Alberta developed the Productivity Assessment Tool with the help of leading industry experts. It involved the integration of components from well established sources and measurement models from around the world.
The Leadership and Management element of the Tool is based on the scientific axiology research of Dr. Robert S. Hartman.
The Operations element draws on several sources including models used by universities, industry associations and consulting groups. It also draws on Kobayashi’s 20 keys to operational productivity.
The Innovation element is based on the collaborative innovation expertise of Robert Porter Lynch and the Warren Company. It was also supplemented by other industry best practices.
Prior to launching, pilots of the Productivity Assessment Tool were conducted by 25 different organizations. Over 75 individuals completed the assessment.
