Energy Efficiency in Action
Once you have assessed your situation and developed a plan, it’s time to put it into action. This means choosing the right point person who clearly understands the impact of improved energy efficiency for your organization and can act as the face of your energy efficiency plan.
Depending on the size of your business, specific teams may be needed to drive the implementation of energy efficiencies (e.g. one team to educate staff on energy efficiency and another team to monitor energy saving compliance, etc.). Throughout the process, these teams and the overall leader on energy efficiency in the organization need to communicate regularly and efficiently with employees.
Buy-in from employees is crucial to successfully putting energy efficiency into action. Regular communications around why changes are taking place, especially when those changes are being made to equipment, processes or workspaces, is a requirement if staff are to be fully engaged in the implementation of energy efficiency for the long term.
